12 interesting scenes of One Piece Chapter 801

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece is one of my favorite manga series. And among my favorites, it is on the top of my list. To date, the series has released its 801st chapter since it began serialization in 1997. The chapter release is timing with my plan of opening a new personal blog, so I decided to tell about the series in my first blog post. So, let me cite those parts of Chapter 801 that blew my mind with unexpected information.

1. Rob Lucci is back.

For being a follower of the series, I saw returning characters like Bellamy who appeared from Jaya Arc and reappeared in Dressrosa Arc. In Chapter 801, a man wearing mask, with a pet pigeon on his shoulder, was reintroduced as an official of Cipher Pol "Aigis" Zero. Though the chapter did not formally confirmed that the character was Rob Lucci, a former opponent of protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, there's no other One Piece character with a bird on his shoulder. Another twist: He was shown with Spandam, his former chief at CP9 who now calls him boss.

2. Statue of Luffy in Dressrosa

One Piece fans knew that if Luffy wants something, he will definitely have it. If not now, maybe soon. And in Chapter 801, one of his long-time dream came true —Dressrosans shown constructing three statues and that includes Lucy, Luffy's screen name when he secretly entered the tournament at the Corrida Colosseum. Another twist: The image of Bartholomew Kuma's face was printed at the back of the shirt of the child.

3. Reverie meeting scheduled

In previous chapters, the Reverie or World Council was mentioned in Alabasta Arc and Fishman Island Arc. According to the story, the Reverie happens every four years at Mariejois where kings and/or queens gather to discuss world matters. Interestingly, the latest chapter talked again about the meeting which is scheduled this year and its "too soon."

4. Doflamingo's new outfit

Most of Luffy's defeated pirates in the story were brought to Impel Down. And the latest chapter showed us Donquixote Doflamingo wearing his new outfit —the Impel Down's uniform for arrested pirates.

5. The third admiral

During Doflamingo's conversation with Marine Headquarters vice admiral Tsuru, he discussed about the rulers of the sea in the new era. Oda then drawn the images of the Emperors, Shichibukais, and Supernovas, as well as the men of justice. In the panel, drawn alongside with new Fleet Admiral Sakazuki (Akainu) are Admiral Borsalino (Kizaru), Admiral Issho (Fujitora) and the interesting part —the silhouette of the third admiral that was only mentioned by the name Ryokugyu. However, his face was not properly shown.

6. Mysterious character from Revolutionary Army

Chapter 801 also showed another mysterious character. A face of a member of the Revolutionary Army was shown, together with big-time revolutionaries Ivankov, Sabo, and Dragon.

7. Appearance of Captain Jack

The name "Captain Jack" was first mentioned in Chapter 692 (Punk Hazard Arc). A viewer of the broadcast stated that he will be reporting about the capture of Caesar Clown to Captain Jack. In Chapter 801, this mysterious character who resembles Axe-Hand Morgan made his debut.

8. Barto Club's ship

That shocking moment when you saw Luffy's body as a ship design. I knew Bartolomeo the Cannibal is a super fanboy of Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates but never I imagined a ship with Luffy's body. Chapter 801 introduced "The Going Luffy-senpai" as the ship of Barto Club Pirates.

9. Bellamy not next nakama

Honestly, Bellamy is one of Dressrosa characters that I voted to be the next nakama of the Straw Hats. After Doflamingo's defeat, I have that feeling that this guy has higher chances of becoming next crew member. Luffy considered him as a friend already, but Chapter 801 revealed that he won't be one of Luffy's subordinates. However, I am happy that he got a piece of Luffy's vivre card, so he will be returning soon in an unexpected moment again.

10. Strawhats going to Zou

During the conversation of Trafalgar Law, Bartolomeo, Luffy and his crew in Chapter 801, the scene gave us an idea that the feast in Chapter 800 has already done. They are also on their way to Zou to meet the crew of Law, as well as to team up with Sanji and the rest of Straw Hats.

11. Increase of bounties

The most-awaited update on bounties of Straw Hats happened in Chapter 801. Same with Law, Luffy's bounty hits to 500 million berries. Roronoa Zoro's bounty raised to 320 million berries. Ussop is now the third crew with highest bounty with 200 million berries. Other Straw Hats got an increase of 50 million berries to their bounties, except Chopper with his new bounty of only a hundred berries. (Nico Robin: 130 million berries; Franky: 94 million berries; Sanji: 177 million berries; Nami: 66 million berries; Brook: 83 million berries.) What's shocking in this raise is that those who are in the Team Sunny who did not participated much in Dressrosa events had their bounties increased too.

12. Sanji's wanted poster

Though Ussop overtaken Sanji in terms of their bounties, the latter got much spotlight in the last chapter. Sanji's wanted poster indicated that he must be captured "Only Alive" which is very shocking for us, readers. This part made me think of those theories I read about him being a prince from North Blue, but it has no basis as of now.
I'm looking forward to seeing the next chapter, since scenes are becoming great, intense, and interesting.
